Elena and her friend Kaitlyn
Elena started out the meet with the 50M freestyle. This was her very first race and was a little nervous before it started, even shed a few tears. After a few minutes of encouragement and prayers, she was ready. You couldn't tell she was nervous once she was in the water. She wasn't quite sure whether to dive in or not as you can see and she got a little tired towards the end, but otherwise, she had a GREAT first race! Her buddy Kaitlyn also swam at the meet so we were able to hang out with her family and cheer her on as well.

Way to go Elena! Katrina and I just watched the video and we are very impressed. Hopefully we can go to a meet around here sometime.

That was a great swim!! As a former competitive swimmer, I thought she did amazingly. Keep it up!
