Bernie Falls

We had the opportunity to get away for a few days so we headed up to Redding to visit with grandma and papa and the Barclays. One of the days we took a road trip to Bernie Falls. It was about 95 degrees so the 42 degree temperature of the waterfall mist felt great during the hike. After the hike we went fishing with the girls which turned out to be somewhat of a disaster but we learned an invaluable lesson: when you have small children, either fish with them and forget about what YOU want or....leave them and have FUN fishing by yourself. BUT NEVER try to fish for yourself and your small children at the same time. Thankfully the hook that Hannah stepped on came out of her foot and the fishing pole that got stuck wrapped around the tree came down and the GIANT ants that were crawling on the baby didn't leave a mark.
And thats just to name a few.....

Before the hike...

Gorgeous, one of my favorite pictures from the trip
And I thought this guy was brave and cute flying right next to me minding his own business..

Rollie Pollie's Eating

Rachel's been so proud of herself lately with her new accomplishments. She can officially roll across a room.

Does this face look familiar? If you have kids you might recognize the first day of feeding when most of what you give them on the spoon runs right back out. She's got the hang of it now though. We're way less messy.

Joels First Deer

This is a big day in history! Joel FINALLY shot a deer as you can tell by his beaming face.
He and Jason were able to go on Sat to a friends property. The story I got was that Jason took the first shot and missed but the deer was kind enough to come back a few minutes later for Joel to get a shot off and hit it. Exciting times in the Dyer house! If you want to hear the whole story you will have to ask Joel.
