River Rats

We got a chance to go to the river last weekend. We had actually planned on going to the beach since it was so hot in town (89 degrees) but as we got close to the beach we noticed it was very windy and quite cold. So we turned around and headed for the dirty green Russian River. The kids always have a blast when water is involved. We also had our friend Isabelle with us who took a few moments to bond with Rachel (who loves sucking on her lip I might add).

I have to explain the hottie in the pink shorts. I have never seen an old man in hot pink bike shorts and I couldn't resist documenting this day by photograph. We later had the pleasure of seeing him ride on his bike along side our car. What a treat! :-)

Awana Graduation

The girls finished another year of Awanas and were rewarded with their ribbons and certificates. We are very proud of them and all the effort they put into earning their different patches for their vests.
The second picture is at the Awana party night and we were blessed with this amazing orange glow from the sunset. Truly beautiful!!!

Happy 10 Years

May 9th Joel and I celebrated our 10 year anniversary. I originally had big plans for a trip to Hawaii but since Rachel was born plans changed. Instead we went for a 3 hour hike at Windsor Shiloh Park and climbed roughly 500 feet to have a picnic lunch overlooking the city, Rachel in tow. Then (without any children) we went out to dinner at Hikuni Japanese Restaurant and followed it up with shopping at the mall. Interesting way to celebrate and definitely not my idea of relaxing but it was great hiking (sweating) with my honey. I love him so much and am looking forward to another 60 years when we can chase each other around with our canes. :-)

Don't count sheep, Hold Bunnies

Rachel really likes this bunny my friend Jen got her. As soon as you put it next to her she starts turning her head into it and wants to go to sleep. We had to catch it on camera.

Baby smiles

She's not gonna like the double chin picture when she gets older but I couldn't resist.

Yummy Feet!

Just irresistable! Rachel at 8 weeks old. I love that she is now responsive and trying to talk. Such a fun age!

Gobble, Gobble

Joel got another one. Look close...he also lost his facial hair. We're looking forward to eating them next week after they are smoked. Yum!
